Keith & Dufftown Railway & Elgin
We begin the holiday with a journey on the Keith & Dufftown Railway - one of he most Northerly preserved railways in the country. With over 10 miles of line your journey starts at Dufftown Station and travels through the scenic Speyside along the banks of Loch Park, past Drummuir Castle and onto Keith. After the journey, you will travel through Speyside on the coach to Elgin for some time here before returning to the hotel in time for dinner.
West Highland Line
Today we travel to see the Grade A listed Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge; a dedication to the men and Commandos of WWII. After this we travel to the famous Glenfinnan Monument then on through scenic Lochaber to the fishing port of Mallaig with time for lunch before boarding the diesel train for return journey to Fort William on the world famous West Highland Line.
Strathspey Steam Railway & Grantown on Spey
Boarding the steam train at Boat of Garten this morning we travel the 10 miles to Aviemore aboard the Victorian carriages and through some impressive Speyside scenery. A leisurely afternoon will be spent in Grantown on Spey.
