Excursions

Belfast

Today at your leisure in Belfast. Once the home of the Irish linen industry, tobacco production, rope making and the world famous Harland and Wolff shipbuilders, Belfast lays claim to a unique history.  Split into quarters, each with its own personality, today it is bursting with fun and excitement. Titanic Quarter, is home to the spectacular Titanic Exhibition, The Gaeltacht Quarter the centre for Irish language and culture, with music, drama and fantastic restaurants and pubs, St Ann’s Cathedral. The Cathedral Quarter is packed full of fascinating architecture, from public buildings to renovated warehouse restaurants and last but not least the Queens Quarter is alive with shops, cafes, bars, live venues and the Botanical Gardens.

Giants Causeway & Game of Thrones

Today we take you to see the UNESCO World Heritage Site that is The Giants Causeway. The Visitor Centre is our first stop where you can learn all about the amazing natural wonder before seeing it for yourself. Next we travel along the Causeway Coastal Route to see the first of today's Game of Thrones filming locations and Duncluce Castle (Castle Greyjoy) where we stop for photo's before arriving in the lovely seaside town of Portstewart in time for lunch. Portstewart Strand is a beautiful beach here, and was used for filming in Season 5 of the TV Series too. Return to the hotel with a stop at The Dark Hedges (Kings Road) near Ballymoney where you can walk along just as a young Arya Stark did!

Letterkenny & Donegal

Our first stop today is Letterkenny. Full of Irish charm and character, traditional Letterkenny offers plenty to entertain with many interesting monuments and buildings both old and new, art galleries and museums, bars and restaurants and excellent shops. In the afternoon we travel south through some of the most breathtaking scenery to Donegal, home to ‘The Diamond’, a monument dedicated to the four authors of  ‘The Annuals of the Four Masters’. You will have time to wander around the shops or visit the Donegal Castle,  built in the 15th century by O’Donnell chieftains.
