FRASERBURGH & PETERHEAD
Today we travel along the North East coast to visit Fraserburgh and Peterhead. Enjoy the beautiful scenery travelling through Newburgh, the fishing village of Cruden Bay and onto Peterhead where you will have time to explore the fishing port with its shops, cafes and Peterhead Jail, which is now a musuem offering guided tours. Travel on along the coast to Fraserburgh where you can explore the busy fishing town. There are plenty of shops, restaurants and museums to discover, including the first ever lighthouse in Scotland, Kinnaird Head Castle Lighthouse and Maggies Hoosie - a restored cottage depicting what life was like for fisherwomen in times gone by.
PORTSOY, BANFF & FYVIE CASTLE
Enjoy a lovely day out today starting with a visit to the small fishing port of Portsoy, appointed a royal burgh by Mary Queen of Scots in 1550 and its famous Portsoy marble is on display in the harbour. It was also more recently a filming location for the Whisky Galore! remake. The town centre winds uphill and has lovely shops to enjoy. Banff is our next stop to see along the coast with its picturesque harbour and plentiful shops and cafes for a spot of lunch. Touring back towards Fyvie Castle, enjoy a tour of the beautiful 800 year old castle and discover its amazing art & antique collections.
