Strathspey Steam Railway & Speyside Tour

After breakfast in the Nethybridge Hotel, our coach will take you out for the day to discover the beauty of Speyside firstly with a lovely trip on the Strathspey Steam Train. Boarding at Broomhill Station you travel the 10 mile heritage line to Aviemore aboard the Victorian carriages and through some impressive Speyside scenery. Alight at Aviemore for a bit of time to explore the Highland town and have some lunch before then the coach will take you to Grantown-On-Spey for a spot of shopping then onto the Speyside Heather Centre, which is full of local crafts & a lovely café.

The Kyle Line & Isle of Skye

After breakfast we leave the Nethybridge Hotel and travel to Inverness to catch the train for a scenic journey you will never forget on the world famous Kyle Line, and marvel at the stunning views as the train takes you through some of the most impressive and remote scenery in the Scottish Highlands.

Passing by quaint little stations and vast wide open spaces, sparkling lochs and towering mountains, it feels like travelling through time, when everything was at a much slower pace. Arriving at Kyle of Lochalsh to spend some free time before crossing the bridge to the Isle of Skye and check-in at the Kings Arms Hotel. Here you will be welcomed with a glass of something cold before your delicious evening meal. The hotel dates back to the 1600’s and has warmth & character aplenty, with many modern comforts too. From most of its rooms you will enjoy panoramic views across the Kyle of Lochalsh to the mainland. Why not explore Kyelakin itself and take a short stroll along the front to Brightwater Visitor Centre or the 14th century castle ruins of Caisteal Maol.

Isle of Skye Tour & Portree

After breakfast in the hotel we travel along the length of the Isle of Skye and show you the best parts of the island including the Old Man of Storr and Quiaring. Before we go to Portree there is a short stop at Staffin beach, a beautiful quiet location to enjoy the views to Staffin Island and do some dinosaur footprint spotting! On Staffin beach there is a high concentration of dinosaur footprints which have recently been discovered so there is a great chance you might spot one here. Back on the coach for the last stop in Portree for some time and lunch. Set round its natural harbour and fringed by high ground and cliffs, the town is a popular tourists’ holiday destination and the picturesque harbour continues to be used by fishing boats. Here you can explore the shops and cafes before we travel back around the coast to Kyleakin where you can enjoy your evening meal and your last night on the amazing Isle of Skye.
