Explore the quaint town with its beautiful historic buildings, shops and cafes and walking trails along the River Tweed to Neidpath Castle. The town of Peebles has historic roots going back to the 12th Century when King William I first appointed it as a Royal Burgh, and since then it has flourished as a small market town which has a never ending stream of visitors eager to explore its charms.
Rosslyn Chapel & Edinburgh
This morning after breakfast in the hotel join the coach for a day out to explore Rosslyn Chapel on the outskirts of Edinburgh. This enticing building stands perched above the River North Esk, and has done so since 1446. Still a place of worship today, the chapel is shrouded in mystery with links to the Knights Templar and Holy Grail. After a guided tour of the exquisite carvings inside and out, and time for a refreshment in the café we travel on to Edinburgh where you will have a tour of the city by Palace of Holyroodhouse, Arthurs Seat and Calton Hill before the coach drops you in a central location for you to explore the city and its many shops. Returning to the hotel in time for evening meal.
Floors Castle, Kelso & Melrose
Enjoy a fabulous day at Floors Castle in the Scottish Borders to view the beautiful gardens and tapestries along with a tour of the famous castle built in 1721 for the 1st Duke of Roxburgh. We then travel to the charming town of Kelso where you can explore the cobbled town square with its multitude of unique shops and cafes. There will also be a short stop in Melrose as we visit Abbotsford House Visitor Centre & café where you can explore, shop and eat before returning to the hotel in Peebles in time for dinner.
