As the name suggests on this ‘Grand’ 5-day holiday we enjoy some of the best scenery the Lake District has to offer with our main highlight a cruise on lovely Lake Windermere & Haverthwaite Railway Journey, tour of the Lakes villages and towns, an excursion to Lancaster and St Annes. Staying in our very own Cumbria Grand Hotel which offers panoramic views of Morecambe Bay and set in lovely private grounds this holiday is certainly not one to miss out on!

Begin the day with a stop in the ancient village of Cartmel, famous for its 12th century priory, racecourse and also the home of sticky toffee pudding. After which we travel to Haverthwaite for our nostalgic steam train journey. Enjoy the trip as you are whisked along the tracks to Lakeside where you will then enjoy a lovely 1 hour cruise to Bowness-On-Windermere on the other side of the lake. You can enjoy time here for lunch in one of the many cafes or restaurants then relax and enjoy the wonderful Windermere vistas. A stop in Grange-Over-Sands before returning to the hotel this evening.



A day full of breathtaking scenery as you tour through the stunning Lake District and enjoy visits to some of the most popular towns in the area. Travel past Lake Windermere towards Ambleside where can stop and soak up the wonderful views and explore the quaint countryside charming village, then onto Grasmere before travelling to Kendal. There is so much to see in Kendal with lots of shops, restaurants, museums and castle ruins - you will be able to spend your afternoon discovering the town.



Enjoy a lovely tour this morning to the traditional seaside resort of St Annes. With its splendid beach stretching for miles and boutique shops, Promenade Gardens and restaurants there’s lots to see here. In the afternoon we travel to nearby Lancaster, a historic small city with a big past. You will have time to explore the lovely boutique shops, the 11th century castle and jail, Williamson Park and many museums in the city.


Commanding stunning views over Morecambe Bay, the Cumbria Grand Hotel sits nestled on the hillside of Grange-over-Sands. The General Manager and staff make the welcome warm and inviting in this impressive Victorian hotel, full of fine original features. The hotel also offers a snooker room, table tennis and woodland walks in the 20 acres of grounds.
