Enjoy a full day to explore Donegal today. Donegal Town is an attractive town overlooking the Bay with a backdrop of the Bluestack Mountains on the Wild Atlantic Way. Traditionally a Market Town it is easily accessible for visitors to explore the abundance of shops, dining, cultural and heritage attractions. Some of these include the 15th Century Donegal Castle, Four Masters Column, Railway Heritage Centre and the Abbey ruins. Before we leave we visit the Donegal Craft Village, which is filled with independent shops including glass blowers, hand weavers and jewellery makers.

Full of Irish charm and character, Letterkenny offers plenty to entertain you as you visit here this morning after breakfast in the hotel. The town itself has many interesting buildings both old & new with its Gothic style St Eunan’s Cathedral, County Museum housed in the old stone Workhouse, and boasting the longest Main Street in Ireland. It has a great mix of bars and shops to enjoy as well.  We stop in Derry on the route back to the hotel where you can enjoy some time at leisure to explore the walled city. There are many attractions and shops here to enjoy.

This morning after breakfast in the hotel we take the journey West along the Wild Atlantic Way. 1600 miles in length, the route winds its way all along the Irish West Coast from the Inishowen Peninsula in the north down to the picturesque town of Kinsale, County Cork, in the south. Today enjoy the scenery of Ireland as you pass the white sandy beaches and coves along the coastal route before arriving in Sligo. There are lots of things to see in this North West town including 13th Century Abbey, the Yeats Building and Sligo County Museum dedicated to the history of the area. We journey back to the hotel in Buncrana through the scenery of North West Ireland arriving back in time for dinner.

Situated in picturesque Buncrana, The Inishowen Gateway Hotel offers a luxury spa, a 20 yards pool, and a modern Irish restaurant. With colourful bedrooms, the hotel has wonderful views of Lough Swilly and guests can go golfing for free at Buncrana Golf Course right next to the hotel.

The spacious rooms are sumptuously decorated with rich fabrics and ornamental cushions, and all feature a work desk, tea and coffee facilities and a modern en suite bathroom. Room service is also available, and most rooms have scenic lake views. The Loughview Bar serves a light lunch and traditional evening menu, and the Peninsula Restaurant serves creative cuisine using local produce in more formal surroundings. The grand Lisfannon Banqueting Suite offers a popular Sunday cavery. The Seagrass Wellbeing Spa features a sauna, indoor swimming pool and wellness centre, with an extensive range of indulgent beauty treatments available. The Inishowen Gateway offers free private parking and free Wi-Fi, and overlooks the Buncrana golf club.
