Castle Howard & Harrogate
Travelling to Castle Howard this morning, one of Britain’s finest stately homes you can enjoy a tour of the grand house with its dramatic interiors and world-famous collections of art and antiques before wandering around the 1000 acre estate. Enjoy the walled gardens, majestic fountains, temples and statues covering the grounds, before joining the coach and travelling back to Harrogate where you can spend the rest of your day exploring the delightful spa town. Browse the antiques in Montpellier Quarter, have some tea in Betty’s or wander around the many shops which have everything from side street boutiques to high-end names. Definitely something for everyone in Harrogate.
Harewood House & Knaresborough
Today visit another architectural gem in the North East, brimming with Chippendale furniture and art collections from around the world. Harewood House was originally built in 1759 and is renowned for its magnificent Robert Adam interiors. Outside there is an Italianate Terrace providing stunning views over Yorkshire’s most beautiful landscape and lake. Crafted by Capability Brown, Harewood’s grounds stretch over 1000 acres and represent one of his most famous vistas. Enjoy your day here to explore before we travel back towards Harrogate, with a stop off in Knaresborough before arriving back in the hotel for evening meal.
With time to visit many attractions such as the gothic York Minster, National Railway Museum, The Shambles and many more sights. Sip a drink by the River Ouse and watch the world go by of simply stroll along the cobbled streets and enjoy the city’s vibrant café culture and street entertainers.
