BOOKING TERMS & CONDITIONS 

(For purposes of these terms and conditions Strathmore Travel is referred to as ‘us’ and ‘we’. The person placing the booking is referred to as ‘you’.)

 

Deposit and Balance Payment

We require a non-refundable deposit of £40 per person at time of booking. The balance of your holiday is due 6 weeks prior to departure date and this will be stated on your Confirmation Letter. European holidays require £60 deposit per person with balance due 10 weeks prior to departure date. If we do not receive full payment by this date we reserve the right to release your booking and retain your deposit. Deposit payments are non-refundable or transferable and can be paid by debit/credit card or cheque. Cheques are an acceptable form of payment unless booked within 14 days of departure date where we reserve the right to require payment by cash or debit/credit card. We are happy to accept last minute bookings and require full payment when the booking is placed.  Day trips are payable in full at the time of booking.

 

 

Changes To Your Booking

From time to time it may become necessary to alter the published programme including excursions, pickup points, hotels and pick up times and we reserve the right to do so without prior notice. Prices and availability are correct at time of going to press although we reserve the right to change any prices at any time prior to booking date. The price which is offered and accepted at the time of booking is set and no reduction will be made unless the content of the package is altered.

 

 

Special Requirements / Disability

We welcome guests with special requirements and will do our utmost to meet your needs. Our hotels do not all have full disabled accessible facilities and we ask that you check at time of booking as to the suitability of your chosen hotel. Please ensure that your disability has been acknowledged at the time of booking. If we are not informed of any disabilities in this way we cannot be held responsible for any cost or inconvenience occurred.

 

Cancellation of Booking by you

If you cancel your holiday, it must be confirmed in writing. Please contact us as soon as possible should you decide to cancel your booking in order to avoid unnecessary charges. If you are unable to travel on your planned holiday for any reason, all monies paid will be subject to our cancellation charges as set below. We cannot transfer any monies paid to another holiday. No refunds will be made for services or tickets booked but not used. If any person with whom you are sharing a room should cancel and you wish to continue your holiday as planned, we will make every effort to transfer you to a suitable room if available. If this is not possible, or this results in additional charges, we reserve the right to pass on these charges to you or to cancel your holiday and apply the appropriate cancellation charges.

Cancellation of Booking by Strathmore Travel

It may become necessary for us to cancel your booking in certain unforeseen circumstances beyond our control or if the group does not reach minimum numbers.  In this case we will offer you an alternative break to the value of your original booking or a break of lesser value where we will refund you the difference in price or a full refund of any monies paid.

 

Travel Insurance

Insurance is not included in the price of the breaks. We strongly recommend all customers have adequate insurance cover before travelling as this will protect you from financial loss in the event of cancellation. We do not provide an insurance policy.

 

 

Group Bookings

We accept group bookings for our brochure tours and also tailor holidays specifically for groups. Should a group booking be made on a published tour, we reserve the right to accept payment/s by the group leader only. Payments made by individual group members are not permitted. In addition, any changes to your booking must be through the group leader only. All other terms and conditions apply.

 

Tour Coaches & Seating

It may become necessary to use a coach with different seat numbers to those shown in the published seating plan. We cannot accept bookings conditional on the provision of specific seats and accept no liability if the seat provided is in a different position than that originally booked. Additionally on rare      occasions we reserve the right to change your seat number/s for operational reasons. Connecting taxis and minibuses may be used on a transfer element of your holiday.

 

Luggage & Personal Belongings

You will receive your suitcase tags 7 days before your departure date. All luggage carried on board our coaches is done so at your own risk. Please double check you have all your personal belongings and baggage before departing the coach or the hotel. Strathmore Travel will not accept responsibility for any loss or damages. We recommend a limit of 20kg per person.

 

 

Feedback

We kindly ask that you take time to fill in your comments card on your return journey home. Your experience is extremely important to us and your comments will help us to build a wider range of breaks tailored to your requirements.

 

Accessibility

Please note that not all of our holidays and excursions will be suitable for those with mobility issues or disabilities.  Please ask at the time of booking if your proposed holiday will be suitable for your needs. Wheelchairs  are permitted on our coaches, however the driver will not be obliged to assist with the lifting of these items on and off of the coach due to heath & safety restrictions. Scooters are no longer permitted on our coaches due to health & safety regulations.

 

Drinks Inclusive Packages

Drinks inclusive packages are offered at a selection of hotels in our brochure. These include 2 drinks vouchers per day and are limited to 1 alcoholic and 1 non-alcoholic drink. These include selected house wines & spirits, draught lager/beer, soft drinks, tea /coffee.

 

Complaints

If you have any complaints during your holiday it is essential that you notify either the hotel manager or the coach driver as soon as possible. Your driver/hotel manager will do their best to resolve the problem for you, but if they are unable to do this you should write to us and explain what your complaint is about within 21 days after the holiday. We aim to reply to any complaints within 28 days however sometimes this may take longer if we require a response from our service partners.

 

Circumstances beyond our Control

We shall not be liable for any circumstances beyond our control. Examples of circumstances beyond our control are strikes, traffic disruptions and exceptionally bad weather.

 

100% Financial Protection

When you book a holiday with Strathmore Travel, your money is stored in a Trust Account. This account keeps your money safe until your holiday returns and we don't receive any money until after you return from your holiday. Book your holiday in complete confidence with Strathmore, with the peace of mind that your money is always safe and secure. If for any reason your holiday is cancelled and you do not wish to choose an alternative break, you will receive your money back immediately. 

These terms and conditions shall be governed by Scottish Law.

 

Privacy Policy

Strathmore Travel will not pass your personal details to any third-party companies in compliance with the Data Protection Act 1998.
