Enjoy your journey northwards to Thurso where you will be welcomed into the Station Hotel for your overnight stay, with dinner served in the restaurant this evening.
Today we have an exciting trip over to visit the first of the archipelago islands - Orkney. Depart from Scrabster at mid-day and board the MV Hamnavoe for the 90 minute sailing past Britain’s highest vertical cliffs the Old Man of Hoy. Arrive in Stromness and our coach will tour the island taking you to visit World Heritage sites of Skara Brae, the Standing Stones of Stenness and the mystical Ring of Brodgar. You also see the famous WWII Churchill Barriers, Italian Chapel and Scapa Flow where the German Fleet were scuttled after WWI. A delicious 3 course meal will be served to you in a local restaurant in Kirkwall before boarding the Northlink ferry for the overnight crossing to Shetland.
Arrive in Lerwick harbour after breakfast on board the ferry. Depart the ship for our day tour of Shetland with our coach and visit the outstanding prehistoric settlement of Jarlshof and then onto Scalloway Castle, which was once the home of the Earl of Orkney & Shetland. Lunch will be at your leisure in Lerwick and you will have some free time to explore the town before boarding the Northlink ferry for your overnight sailing back to the Scottish Mainland.
Arrive in Aberdeen where you can enjoy a delicious breakfast on board the ferry before the coach disembarks and takes you on a morning tour around the sights of the Granite City of Aberdeen. Overnight stay near Aberdeen this evening.
After a hearty breakfast in the hotel we return home today after our journey to the beautiful Shetland & Orkney islands.

The very centrally located Station Hotel serves fine Scottish meat cooked in a traditional style. There is a good selection of drinks including several whiskeys. Full English breakfast is included in your room. The hotel is well located for Scrabster Harbour, and has welcoming, friendly staff.

The hotel has a fantastic restaurant, which serves a delicious full English breakfast each morning. Dinner is also available in the evenings with a wide variety of dishes to choose from. There is an on-site bar, serving hot and cold beverages in a friendly atmosphere, which is open till late. The hotel offers non-smoking bedrooms, which are tastefully decorated and have an en-suite bathroom, TV and tea and coffee making facilities.
