Enjoy your journey to the Cumbria Grand Hotel where you will be welcomed for the first night of your stay with a drinks reception before your evening meal.


After breakfast we depart the hotel in Grange-Over-Sands and travel to nearby Morecambe where you can spend the morning before the ferry crossing from Heysham in the afternoon. Arriving in Douglas early evening and check into the Empress Hotel for the first of your 3 nights on the Isle of Man.


After breakfast the coach will take you to visit Cregneash and see how the crofters used to live on the Island. Then travel down to The Sound Visitor Centre & Café which offers wonderful views of the Calf of Man. After your visit the coach with take you to Castletown where you will take time to visit the Old Grammar School and lunch in the town. Take time here to explore the Old House of Keys followed by a tour of Castle Rushen. The coach will return to Douglas and you can enjoy your evening meal.


This morning the coach will travel to the west of the Island to visit Peel Castle perched on St Patrick’s Isle. Also whilst you’re here why not visit the House of Manannan where you can find out about the island’s Viking, Celtic and maritime past.  The coach will take you a tour of the island passing by some of the most beautiful scenery at Ramsey and back along the east coast of the island to Laxey where you have time to visit ’Lady Isabella’ the famous wheel, the worlds largest working watermill. Return to the hotel at Douglas early evening.


Depart Douglas this morning for the return ferry to Heysham and enjoy your journey back home on the coach.





Overlooking Douglas Bay on the Isle of Man, this hotel has a piano bar, a health club, and a large conservatory that features panoramic sea views.

There is a choice of dining options at The Empress Hotel, including a French-style brasserie restaurant ,or The Piano Bar which serves a full bar menu daily until 9.30pm and a range of drinks.

The hotel’s rooms all have modern décor, and come equipped with satellite TV. Guests can also make use of a work desk and facilities for making tea and coffee.

Leisure facilities at The Empress include a fully equipped gym, sauna and steam room. Beauty treatments are available, including soothing massages.

A variety of shops can be reached in under 10 minutes’ walk, and there are restaurants to eat in along the nearby promenade.
