North Coast 500 Explorer

DAY 1

Join the coach for the beginning of your adventure to visit the very North of Scotland and discover the entire North Coast 500 in one fabulous holiday. We travel today and you will arrive in Strathpeffer early this evening and enjoy your dinner in the grand Ben Wyvis Hotel.

DAY 2

Travel today to see one of the most beautiful and most photographed castles in all of Europe, Eilean Donan perched on the edge of Loch Duich.  The journey here is remarkable by Loch Maree and Loch Torridon, you will be stunned by the scenery on today’s trip over the Skye Bridge and across the island to Portree. The island is world-renowned for being one of the most scenic and photogenic areas of Scotland. Don't forget your cameras today!

DAY 3

We depart Strathpeffer this morning to embark on our journey North to Thurso. With a stop in Ullapool to enjoy the views over Loch Broom before travelling on by the magnificent lochs and seascapes of the North West Coast before arriving in Durness where you have time to have lunch explore Smoo Cave at leisure. Dip your toe in the North Sea on Sango Bay and have lunch before we travel along by serene Loch Eriboll and Tongue passing through some of Scotland’s most remote countryside before arriving in the Viking town of Thurso for our 1st night stay in the town. The Royal Hotel is central in the town, and had undergone extensive refurbishments.

DAY 4

Explore Caithness today with a journey along the NC500 route taking in the wonderful views over to Orkney & Stroma as we travel through Dunnet and Mey to the end of the road, John O’Groats.  Sample the shops here and maybe a walk along to Duncansby Stacks for those who wish before we travel along the coast to Wick.  This area of Scotland is one of the most beautiful and rugged and you will have plenty of photo oportunities today. We later return to the hotel in Thurso in time for evening meal.

DAY 5

We depart Thurso after breakfast, and with our North Coast 500 journey complete, we return home today through Scotland’s stunning scenery once again.
