TRAQUAIR HOUSE & PEEBLES
Traquair House Innerleithen; Scotland’s oldest inhabited House. Visited by 27 Scottish Kings and Queens Traquair dates back to 1107 and has been lived in by the Stuart family since 1491 this building has a fascinating history to explore. Originally a royal hunting lodge, Traquair played host to Mary Queen of Scots and later as staunch Catholics they supported the Jacobite cause without counting the cost. Enjoy a tour and time to wander the grounds, chapel & brewery before we travel on to Peebles after our visit and enjoy some time to explore the Borders town.
MELROSE & ABBOTSFORD HOUSE
Enjoy time in Melrose this morning. Why not explore the ruined 11th century Abbey and its links to Robert the Bruce? We have a tour of Abbotsford House, home of Sir Walter Scott. Tour the 17th century interiors and the stunning gardens & grounds.
